This property was built in 1925 and was originally used as a multi-family home located in Bay Ridge, the southwestern corner of Brooklyn. Bay Ridge, originally known as Yellow Hook for the color of its soil, changed its name in 1853 to avoid any association with yellow fever. It coined its new name from the area’s most prominent feature: a high ridge that offered views of the New York Bay.
