Lauren Golfer, WHNP-BC
Lauren Golfer, WHNC-BC is a women’s health nurse practitioner with a diverse background in well-woman care. Her true passion is caring for women across the lifespan. Her approach to compassionate care is informed by her belief in a strong relationship between patient and provider.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Lauren began her career in marketing and grant writing, and received a degree from the University of Maryland, as part of the College Park Scholars Program. She soon realized she wanted to work directly with the patients for whom she was writing grants, and went back to school to study nursing at New York University. She spent several years working in OB/GYN before entering the women’s health nurse practitioner program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She is a recipient of the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Downstate Community.
Her focuses include pelvic exams, family planning, gynecologic disease management, and LGBTQ care.
She is a member of NPWH, the premier organization for Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, as well as the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State.
