24/7 OB/GYN Telemedicine Visits

Women’s health concerns do not follow a 9-to-5 schedule. That is where 24/7 telemedicine visits can help. Patients can get access to expert advice when they need it.

During a telemedicine consultation, the healthcare provider can evaluate the symptoms you’re experiencing and recommend the next steps.

Some of the common concerns discussed during an OB/GYN telemedicine visit include the following:

Don't know which doctor to choose? Let us help you.

Telemedicine Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI)

Our virtual REI consultation allows convenient access to our fertility specialists. They can review your medical history, discuss your fertility goals and concerns, and review previous fertility testing results.

Through telemedicine, you can also discuss the following issues:

At Maiden Lane Medical, we often use telemedicine visits for initial fertility consultations and follow-up appointments. During the virtual visit, we can also review lab and imaging results and discuss ongoing fertility treatment.

Virtual and In-Person Gynecology Care That Works Together

Unlike some telemedicine services, ours is backed up by in-person clinics. This allows for an easier transition between virtual and in-person appointments. During your virtual appointments, we will have access to your medical records and treatment history. This allows for consistent, personalized care.

Through this integrated approach, we can seamlessly coordinate the following services:

  • Prescriptions
  • Laboratory testing
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Referrals
  • Follow-up visits
  • Long-term treatment planning

Accessible Telemedicine Across New York State

Through our virtual visits, our OB/GYN and fertility services are conveniently available throughout New York State. Our telemedicine services are HIPAA-compliant, providing a secure connection and protection of your personal information.

Additional Telemedicine Services

In addition to our OB/GYN services at Maiden Lane Medical, we also provide telemedicine services for other specialties.

Telemedicine Physical Therapy

Our virtual physical therapy visits connect you to a licensed physical therapist. During the visit, our therapists can assess movement, correct exercise technique, monitor your progress, and adjust your treatment plan.

The conditions that our physical therapists commonly treat include the following:

Telehealth

Telehealth is the use of communications technologies to provide health care from a distance. Examples include a “virtual visit” with a health care provider or a surgeon using robotic technology to do surgery from a different location. Learn about the types of care available using telehealth.

Telemedicine Urology

Our virtual visits provide an opportunity to discuss symptoms related to the following conditions:

In some cases, you may need to visit one of our offices for a physical exam or additional testing.

How Do I Access the Telemedicine Services?

Accessing our telehealth or video visit services is convenient and simple.

Download the App

First, download the Healow app to your smartphone or computer. You can use the same username and password that you use for the Maiden Lane Medical patient portal. You can also use the Healow app on any computer or tablet that has a camera.

Make Your Appointment

You can schedule your appointment using the Maiden Lane Medical online booking tool or call the practice. If you try to book online but your provider doesn’t have a telemedicine option, call the office. The team is working rapidly to ensure that all physicians, nurse practitioners, and other providers have telemedicine capabilities.

Starting Your Appointment

You will receive an appointment reminder email before your appointment. Inside this email, there will be a link directly to the appointment. There is no need to further log in.

Alternatively, when it’s time for your appointment, you can log on to the Healow app. Make sure to grant permission for Healow to access your camera and your microphone so you and your provider can see and hear each other.

To maintain your privacy, make sure to be in a room by yourself with the door closed. You can log on at home or work, as long as you have sufficient privacy to talk to your provider.

What Are the Benefits of Telemedicine?

Telemedicine services provide many patient benefits.

Convenience

In most cases, you can schedule your video visit when it suits your schedule. You don’t have to try to squeeze your appointment into your lunch hour or rush to the office before or after work.

An average medicine follow-up takes 15-20 minutes. You can book your appointment when you know you’ll have a break during the day and not have to worry about commuting.

Also, you don’t waste time sitting in a waiting room. The team at Maiden Lane Medical does its best to keep wait times brief, but sometimes things happen that are out of our control.

Safety

Another benefit of avoiding the waiting room is that you are neither exposed to sick patients nor will you spread your own germs if you’re sick.

Less Costly

You save money by opting for telehealth. You don’t have to pay for gas, parking, rideshare, taxis, or the subway when you meet with your healthcare provider via the Healow app. You don’t need to pay for childcare or eldercare if you’re responsible for children or your parents.

You also don’t have to take time off work to see your provider, so you don’t need to worry about lost wages.

Conditions Treated Through Telemedicine OB/GYN Visits

Telemedicine visits can be used for a wide range of healthcare needs, including:

  • Medication follow-ups and new prescriptions
  • Birth control counseling and refills
  • Abnormal bleeding and menstrual concerns
  • PCOS and hormonal concerns
  • Menopause management
  • Pelvic pain evaluation
  • UTI symptoms
  • Results review and care coordination

When necessary, your provider may recommend in-person evaluation, lab testing, or imaging to ensure complete care.

FAQs About OB/GYN Telemedicine

What conditions can be discussed during an OB/GYN telemedicine visit?

Telemedicine visits can address a variety of non-emergency women’s health concerns, including abnormal bleeding, irregular menstrual cycles, PCOS, pelvic pain, menopause symptoms, birth control questions, medication management, and other gynecologic issues.

Yes. Virtual reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) consultations allow patients to discuss fertility concerns, difficulties conceiving, irregular ovulation, hormonal imbalances, PCOS, family planning, and preconception counseling with a fertility specialist.

Patients can access their appointment through the Healow app on a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a camera. A secure appointment link is sent before the scheduled visit, allowing patients to join quickly and easily.

Telemedicine offers convenient access to healthcare without the need to travel. Patients can often schedule appointments around their daily routines, avoid waiting rooms, reduce transportation costs, and continue receiving quality care from home or another private location.

Possibly. While many concerns can be managed virtually, your provider may recommend an in-person evaluation, laboratory testing, imaging, or a physical examination when necessary to ensure you receive the most appropriate care.
