Dr. Elizabeth Ramos, who is of Puerto Rican descent, was born and raised in the South Bronx in New York City Housing. She is fluent in English and Spanish. Her greatest pastime is traveling and has been to many countries including China, India and Russia.
She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College-Columbia University. She pursued her medical studies at Weill Cornell Medical College and received her Master of Public Health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.
In 1988 she served as Emergency Room Attending Physician at New York Hospital. In 1989 she served as Associate Medical Director and Vice president at Citibank. In 1992, Dr. Ramos served as Director of the Occupational Health Services at New York Hospital. In 1995, she started her own private practice in Internal Medicine in Manhattan. In 2013, she joined the Physician Organization at Weill Cornell Medical College as an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine. In 2018, she joined the Maidenlane Medical Group, a multispecialty group, as an Internist and Primary Care Physician and continues an Assistant Attending Physician and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Ramos is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
